Thank you to all our family and friends who have donated to our fundraiser! In just the first day we have exceeded our fundraising goal! We are so blessed to see this amount of support for our daughter and the Autism community in Australia. Because you’ve exceeded our fundraising goal, we’ve decided to run an extra 10KM’s for every extra $100 donated over our original goal! It may be tough (the running lol) but it’s nothing compared to what Autistic families go through on the daily in the community, at home and in life. This year, we are running 40km this October to raise funds for the estimated 1 in 40 Australians on the autism spectrum!
Increased awareness and understanding means more people than ever are being diagnosed as Autistic – connecting more people to the support they need to thrive throughout their lives. But it also means services are being stretched further than ever before - with many children left on long wait lists at critical times in their development.
We have joined Run for autism to raise funds so more Autistic Australians can access the life-changing assessments, autism-specific education, specialist therapies and adult community services they need to create their own unique brilliance!
This fundraiser hits close to home as we come to learn of our daughters Autism diagnosis. It's been 5 years of learning, loving and letting God, along with the amazing support of our families and friends. As we continue to navigate this new view of the world through our daughters eyes we hope that with our participation along with your contributions, we can all help in creating a less daunting diagnosis process, improve on inclusion supports and therapies for future Australian families.
Any contribution, large or small, will help create a more inclusive future for Australia’s Autistic community.
