💛A HUGE THANK YOU 🙏🏻💛💫 to the wonderful family and friends who supported me with words of kindness and generously donated to Aspect’s ‘Run For Autism 2024’ I’m so grateful and proud to note that together we smashed my fundraising goal raising a total of $3158 💛 Your support will help Aspect work with individuals by:
 
💛Helping Autistic people and their families access earlier diagnosis so they grow up with the support and understanding that comes from an autism diagnosis.
💛Providing resources and information that empower Autistic people and their families following an autism diagnosis.
💛Creating inclusive, autism-friendly environments where Autistic people feel comfortable and free to be themselves.
💛Funding critical research to further explore what support is needed to improve their wellbeing.
💛Providing specialist schooling for children on the autism spectrum in an environment that allows them to embrace their different brilliant💫

Woohoo, 80kms Done!

Today I completed the 2024 Aspect 'Run For Autism' challenge 2024, 80kms done!

Although not as anticipated, I've completed the distance within the timeframe and guidelines; due to injury it was a 'Run + Ride' Unfortunately, it was made official after my painful 'Cliff Young' 7km shuffle yesterday and my visit to the amazing 'Sophie' (Chinese Remedial Massage Master) that running was absolutely not an option....(next stop 'Mel' aka Amazing Sports Physio)  

Again, a HUGE heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who has supported me and to those who have so generously donated to Aspect and the autistic community.

Run No.8 Done & Busted!

….. I’m officially a little bit ‘BUSTED’ so today was a slow and steady 7km jog. 20kms to go and 3 days to do it! 💛 at this stage it’s looking like my challenge will be more like a ‘Run + Jog + Ride For Autism 2024’ but I will do it 💛. I’ve been doing lots of kms on the bike this month too so I may have pushed a little hard 😉 what’s the saying… “go hard or go home”😄

…. only managed 5kms this morning, 27kms to go! Was planning on further but I’ve done myself a little injury… ouch

Run No.6 Done!

... hahaha, I was a 'hot sweaty mess' this morning but knocked over another 8kms... taking the total km's I've run so far run to 48km's... 32km's to go and feeling pumped to reach that 80km goal!

Officially Half Way!

... so on Wednesday I hit 'half way', another 8km run to reach the 40km mark!  A huge heartfelt 'shout out' to all of you who have already donated, thank you, your support means so much xo

6km today, was short on time.  Almost at the halfway mark, 32kms down, 48kms to go…. Running for Autism 2024 💛

... 10kms on Wednesday morning, 26kms down, 54kms to go! It was a very slow start this morning, dark and rainy outside not motivating weather at all…. some days we just need to find the purpose and remember what we’re doing it all for…. ‘Run For Autism 2024’

First Run Done!

... 8kms run, 72kms to go... today was about finding my rhythm, only my second run this year so I'm far from 'run fit' but feeling energised and on track... raising awareness and much needed funds for such an important cause!

Running For Autism This October, 2024!

This October I’m running 80km to raise funds for the estimated 1 in 40 Australians on the autism spectrum! To help raise awareness and help create a world where no-one on the autism spectrum is left behind!

As you know this is a cause extremely close to my heart. In  2022 I ran 42km for autism and with your support and overwhelming generosity raised $4532.00, well and truly exceeding my initial goal of $1000.00.  This year I'll be running roughly twice the distance I ran in 2022 so I've decided to double my initial fundraising goal set at $2000.00.  

Increased awareness and understanding means more people than ever are being diagnosed as Autistic – connecting more people to the support they need to thrive throughout their lives. But it also means services are being stretched further than ever before - with many children left on long wait lists at critical times in their development.

I have joined Run for autism to raise funds so more Autistic Australians can access the life-changing assessments, autism-specific education, specialist therapies and adult community services they need to create their own unique brilliance!

Any contribution, large or small, will help create a more inclusive future for Australia’s Autistic community.
