We're running 40 km this October to raise funds for the estimated 1 in 40 Australians on the autism spectrum!
Increased awareness and understanding means more people than ever are being diagnosed as Autistic – connecting more people to the support they need to thrive throughout their lives. But it also means services are being stretched further than ever before - with many children left on long wait lists at critical times in their development.
We have joined Run for autism to raise funds so more Autistic Australians can access the life-changing assessments, autism-specific education, specialist therapies and adult community services they need to create their own unique brilliance!
Elwood is almost 5, and has been diagnosed with lever 3 autism, ADHD, and Global Developmental Delay.
He is also non-verbal, and every day of his life, he has the struggle of communicating his needs as others would.
Let’s come together as a community and raise money and awareness to help with this amazing cause.
Any contribution, large or small, will help create a more inclusive future for Australia’s Autistic community.
Every morning from September 2nd - September 30th at 11am, Elwood and I will begin our walk along Lakedge. Starting at the entry near Emerald Place, we will walk down to the pirate park, and back again.
We can’t wait to meet you on our walks!
Thank you so much!
